About This Course

Anxiety is a universal emotion, experienced by every single one of us. At some point in our life, it can be debilitating for up to one in three of us. We know that the sooner people get help and support, the more likely they are to recover.

One of the most common reasons anxiety can persist or not go away is that the trigger or cause of it is a mystery. Building self-awareness of the causes (situational, relational and emotional), symptoms (physiological) and responses (behavioural) is a necessary ingredient in any effective treatment program for anxiety. When the triggers for anxiety become predictable, it becomes less overwhelming, and you gain greater control over it. This is the foundation of my course.

The last two years have seen an unprecedented need for mental health treatment options, and my own books were shut for most of that time. So I built this course in the hopes that it might help people who struggle with anxiety but maybe not to the extent that they need to seek professional help just yet. I also built it for people who may be on a waitlist to see a psychologist in the hopes that the material would give them a head-start on their treatment.

Will this course benefit me?
While research into the effectiveness of online “self-help” type courses has shown they have a positive effect, they are not as effective as face to face therapy. The content of this course is based off of evidence-based psychological principles, it has not been evaluated scientifically for its’ effectiveness. If you find that anxiety is troublesome, but does not significantly interefere with your day to day functioning, you may get benefit from this course. If your anxiety does interfere with your day to day functioning, I recommend that you take this course in addition to individual therapy.
